Cityguys is an independent platform for food, drink, culture and travel. Based in Amsterdam, we explore the Netherlands, Europe and beyond in search of the places, people and local stories that give a destination its flavour. From neighbourhood favourites to standout culinary experiences, we share our discoveries on our website and Instagram.
WHO WE ARE
We're Roger Bloem, Jean-Paul Schaddé van Dooren and Steven Strijbosch. Three media professionals brought together by a shared love of fantastic food, great drinks and tall stories. We combine our experience in audiovisual content production, destination marketing, and event management to tell stories worth travelling for.
With 12.5+ years of experience creating travel content and 20+ cities explored, we know how to uncover the stories that make people hungry for a destination.

WHAT WE CREATE
We love creating content about unexpected destinations, up-and-coming neighbourhoods, and legendary culinary traditions. Always through our own lens, in our own words, with creative angles that spark curiosity, inspire travel, and make people see a city, region or country differently.

OUR EDITORIAL PHILOSOPHY
- We take our fun seriously. Every story is crafted with care, creativity, and a respect for what makes a place special.
- Travel should make you curious, hungry and occasionally a little irresponsible with your bedtime.
- Calling something a hidden gem doesn't make it one. We look for the people, traditions and places that give a destination its own flavour.
- A big bill doesn't guarantee a good story, and a plastic chair never ruined a great meal. From dive bars to fine dining, we appreciate places that feel authentic.
- We believe in experiences that stay with you long after the Instagram Stories have disappeared.
